We’re Rick and Cathy Gemkow, proud owners and caretakers of a small, family-run group of AKC Smooth Standard Dachshunds. Our dogs are not just pets; they’re cherished family members.
Our dachshunds come from the esteemed Lucene’s show line, celebrated for their exceptional quality, stunning confirmations, and friendly, outgoing dispositions. Not only are our dogs beautiful, but they also love to shine in the ring as active show dogs, reflecting the remarkable traits of their lineage.
At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to our dogs’ health, happiness, and wellbeing. Because of this, we focus on quality over quantity and only have puppies occasionally. When we do welcome a litter, it’s with great care, love, and attention. Every puppy is raised in our home, surrounded by affection, and comes to you pre-spoiled, thoroughly vet-checked, dewormed, and with their first set of shots completed.

We’re Rick and Cathy, and we live on a few acres in Stanwood, Washington, where we devote our time to raising AKC Standard Dachshunds. Together, we’ve been responsible breeders for over two decades, focusing on health, conformation, and upholding the standards of this wonderful breed. Showing our dogs and traveling to competitions is something we both truly enjoy; it’s not just a pastime but a way to celebrate the breed we care so deeply about.
